On December 19 and 20, 2025, OBACARE Foundation carried out its December Medical Outreach in Ijebu-Ode, reaffirming our commitment to compassion, dignity, and practical support for vulnerable families during the Christmas season. This outreach, though quietly planned due to delayed institutional approvals, unfolded as a deeply impactful mission that touched lives across multiple healthcare facilities.
The outreach officially commenced on December 19, following final approval from hospital management received just a day earlier. Despite limited preparatory communication, the OBACARE team remained focused and intentional, mindful of the demands of the year and the need to avoid placing undue pressure on our volunteers, especially given that the outreach involved travel outside Lagos. What followed was a purposeful, well-executed intervention driven by heart, service, and shared responsibility.
During the outreach, the team visited the State Hospital in Ijebu-Ode, reaching patients across several wards, including the Children’s Ward, Female Ward, Gynaecology Ward, and Maternity Ward. Beyond the distribution of carefully prepared gift items, OBACARE Foundation provided direct medical support by paying for surgeries, settling outstanding hospital bills, and covering the cost of essential medications. For many families, this intervention lifted an overwhelming financial burden and offered renewed hope at a critical time.
The outreach further extended to Akobi Medical Hospital and Odumolorun Maternity, where gift items were shared with patients and staff, reinforcing our belief that care must be holistic, addressing both physical needs and emotional well-being. These moments of giving, conversation, and presence transformed ordinary hospital visits into meaningful encounters of compassion and encouragement.
Overall, the December 2025 outreach was a pleasant, impactful, and fruitful experience. Lives were touched, burdens were eased, and the true spirit of OBACARE Foundation was vividly expressed. The smiles, gratitude, and quiet moments of relief witnessed during these two days remain a powerful reminder of why this work matters.
